Day 11 Checking footnotes for the book is a rather thankless task. I fear that gazing for hours at 10 point Times New Roman font is doing nothing for my eyesight. This is not terribly good news, as my optician already describes me as "practically disabled".
Usually when I go to Specsavers the optician has invited several of hi soptician mates round so that they can all look at my eyes through weird instruments. They ooh and aah and say things like "I didn't know astygmatism could be so pronounced" and "The degree of retinal detachment is extraordinarily pronounced." And on one occasion "Bloody hell, his eyes are crap."
For my Kind Act today, I am inviting an old friend to go and see a band we both loved back in the 80s. If he's up for it, it should be good to catch up and relive our salad days. If I can see the stage of course...
