Day 17 Anyone who has stuck with me long enough might remember the Yes! Experiment. That was back in the days before I was Being Kind. In those days I just said Yes. Consistently.
Well - one of the things I said Yes to was sending my script off for Match Play off to the BBC after I got a few kind words from a reviewer. I punted the script off to both London and Glasgow without for a moment thinking anything would come of it other than a couple of letters saying "Call yourself a writer. Pah. Your plot is thinner than Aimee Winehouse and we've seen better drawn characters in The Teletubbies. We spit on your pathetic script. Begone, and do not bother us again, or we shall set large dogs upon you."
With expectations as high as these, it was a pleasant surprise to get an e-mail from a reader at BBC Scotland asking me to have a go at writing a couple of sample scenes for the soap opera River City. Of course, they will see through me eventually, but it is rather exciting to be asked.
My Kind Act for the day was pretty simple - some wine and some biscuits and cheese waiting for my Significant Other when she go back from her night out.
