Remember to let me know you're own little Acts of Kindness in the Comments
Kind Act Count to Date: 18
Day 4 The kindness continues. I am genuinely surprised and delighted by each little message that pops into the Comments section. It feels like there are little sparks of kindness happening all over the world, and it's lovely to think of Jackie P's mum receiving flowers somewhere on another continent. Thanks also to Jackie for putting a mention for the Blog of Kindness in her blast. Who knows, perhaps together we shall hit the target of 71 Act of Kindness!
However, I have to say, I am not crediting one of the Couch Potato's Acts of Kindness. I know him too well, and believe that the purchase of a kebab was not necessarily motivated entirely by selfless motives. He must read The Rules of Kindness and look deep within his own heart. Now, if he'd asked for extra chili sauce and a side order of onion rings, he might just have made Mrs P's day, and added to the sum total of human happiness.
I was at the fireworks party that marks the end of the Edinburgh Festival tonight. You might remember that when I was conducting the Blog of Yes experiment, I accepted an invitation from a big firm to go through. I'm not usually one for schmoozing but I'm glad I did. It was a lovely night, gazing out at the castle from our vantage point on the thirteenth floor of a tower block. Eating little canapes and watching showers of light in the Lothian skies. Close to magic. And the drink was free.
And for my own kind act I paid for a colleague's train fair home. Karma must have been at work too, because the guard let us upgrade to First Class without paying the usual surcharge.
