Entry for November 25, 2006

It's looking like Practical Magic Theatre might be doing a slot at the Miller Glasgow Comedy Festival in the Spring. It's all been a bit hectic, but I'd say there's a 90% chance we'll be putting on one of my plays.
To be honest I'd given up hope about doing a slot at the Festival - I'd made enquiries about it a couple of months ago, but all the venues seemed to be booked out with big name acts. The festival's more about stand up than theatre.
However, in the way that seems to happen in the Arts World, I got a call from a venue on Thursday saying they were interested in taking a show for a few nights - the only problem being the deadline for taking a slot in the programme was Friday.
Lots of frantic phone calls and texts later, I've confirmed that I've (just about) got a cast available, and I've managed to get the Festival to hold on until Monday before putting the programme out. I've also been to see the potential venue today (which was lovely).
So, I'll need to make a few more calls to the crew tomorrow, and also see if I can iron out financial details with the venue. If all that goes to plan we should have a show in March. Keep watching the blog and I'll let you know how things go.
