Well, I didn't quite make the three hours, but I did finish another draft of a chapter on periodical allowance. I have somehow, by dint of hard work and not a little talent, managed to make a very dull topic even duller.
I shan't bore you with the details, but if you imagine the opening draft as a big steaming plate of mince; and then picture the closing draft as a big steaming plate of pince piled slightly more neatly in the middle of the plate, then you'll get the picture.
To give you an idea of how writing a book on the minutiae of matrimonial law affects you, here is the funniest thing that has happened to me in the last 24 hours -
When you are drafting a legal deed and someone dies, you describe them in legal documents as "residing latterly at..." . However I saw a typo today that described a recently deceased as "residing laterally at...". Now if you think about it carefully that is actually probably accurate.
I appreciate, not very funny, but accurate.
Like I said, it has not been the most fun-filled 24 hours.
