I'm actually rather excited today - a train journey to Edinburgh in prospect and a night at the theatre - "Mary Stuart" with Siobhan Redmond. It's the first time we've been to the theatre since the small bald person came to stay with us. Actually, it feels a bit like a clandestine rendezvous - a sort of brief encounter at Whifflet.


While I was writing this my father - always one with a spiffing idea - has suggested a family day out to Ikea tomorrow.
I'll run that past you again, in case the full horror didn't quite register.
Ikea on a Sunday. With the family. Including a baby. In a pram. In Ikea. On a Sunday
