I had a really positive Sketchy! rehearsal today. It is really rewarding to see the three actors working so hard to look for laughs.
The show's aimed at Primary School kids, who notoriously have considerably less powers of concentration than a goldfish with Attention Deficit Disorder. In order to combat this, we're aiming for a laugh every 15 seconds, and at least three references to farting/bums/poo each minute. This is fortunate, as these are all subjects that I continue to find humorous.
It is pleasant to spend one's Sunday afternoon in an old scout hall drinking too much coffee, and watching your pals in foolish headgear performing sketches such as -
Grannies in da House
Loud Librarian
The Worst Storyteller in the World
It beats playing golf with middle aged men in tank tops.
