I passed my mediation training!
It did occur to me that, if I had failed, I was going to call the co-ordinator, and ask to talk things through, see if we could maybe, after coming to respect one another as people, reach an accomodation through mutualising each other's needs. This has not proved to be necessary though I am pleased to say.
By way of celebration, I had an Empire Biscuit. And, as I bit into the moist "is it a cake, is it a biscuit?" base, I concluded that the Empire Biscuit is due to be re-named again. As many people know, the Empire Biscuit used to be known as the German Biscuit but, during the was this was felt to be unpatriotic: those frightful hun were infiltrating our very way of life. So, the biscuit was re-named.
And, after a brief spell as the Italian Biscuit, then the Definitley Not Italian Biscuit and then back to the Italian Biscuit, we finally settled on the Empire Biscuit. But, I mused as the raspberry jam exploded on my tongue, is this politically correct nowadays. Doesn't it, I wondered as the soft, sweet icing caressed my taste buds, speak of the bad old days of the Raj? Of exploitation? Of the Great White Hunter of yesteryear?
So, what should we call it? The UN Biscuit? The Non-Alligned Biscuit? The Biscuit Formerly Known as Empire?
I dunno. They're bloody good though!
