I'm just back from a Match Play rehearsal. True to form with any comedy, the jokes are all starting to feel flat, and the actors are starting to get edgy. This always happens - the jokes have become so familiar, that no-one who's watching them laughs any more, and the actors begin to feel that it won't work.
Watching from the sidelines though, it's starting to take shape. There's one or two wee areas I need to tighten up on, but all that's really needed is for the actors to tighten their lines and let the play run in rehearsal so they can get their timing right. Then, when an audience comes in, the jokes will feel fresh again.
So, if you haven't ordered a ticket yet, come along; make the actors feel wanted; reduce the financial deficit; and have a laugh for £3.50. 11th - 13th March...
