ingerdshI am intrigued by the Big Brother scandal. I am not speaking about the use of allegedly racist language, but about the Elephant in the Room. Why has no-one failed to notice the ridiculous number of irrtatingly stupid people in the house?
Frankly, if I had my way, anyone who spent more than three and a half seconds talking about hair straighteners would face instant eviction. No names, no pack drill, just a quick exit by the back door. "I'm sorry Pasha, it is a fundamental rule of Big Brother that you must be more intelligent than a bag of potatoes. You must leave The House immediately."
Better than that, next week's task should be a quiz. Anyone who cannot name at least four works of Shakespeare and whistle the Ode to Joy should face summary execution. Failure to recite the first twenty elements in the periodic table and you are forced to play Russian roulette Deerhunter style.
The only people more stupid than those in the house are those who slavishly watch it every night.
And people who don't get irony.
