I have been packing the props for Sketchy this evening. I haven’t organised props for a show myself for years. In fact, the last time I had to do this was when I got an emergency call from my mate Kev. He was directing a pantomime and two days before the show, his stage manager disappeared off the face of the earth. (He was discovered some weeks later in a night club in Ianapa with third degree sunburn).
Anyway, I have checked my lists and packed my boxes. Here are some of the props for the show –
A big comedy spoon (a tough one this – we are now using the third spoon, the first two having been deemed insufficiently funny – I suppose they are really the Ernie Wise to the Mark 3 Spoon’s Eric Morecombe)
A page from a book covered in snot. Here I had to exercise some ingenuity. Trial and error revealed that a green highlighter pen gave the most accurate results).
4 chocolate biscuits (actually only 2 are necessary, but there has to be some perk to the job. The biscuits are tax deductible anyway).
