Day 8 of The YES Experiment
I finished proof reading the excerpts from decided cases for the book at 3pm today thanks (a) to my sister helping me until midnight last night, and (b) one of my colleagues giving up their Saturday (again). They clearly have no lives and as I have favoured them with my company for a few hours, I feel that this is thanks enough. Any overt displays of gratitude would be unseemly.
Anyway, at 4pm today, I attended my Yes! barbecue I mentioned yesterday. And my sources were correct - there was a bouncy boxing ring. Not only that - but there was a bouncy castle as well. Any party where there are two dirigible items on the back lawn is not to be missed. For a man in his forties this was like Glastonbury.
I took the Small Bald Person along, and we both had a pleasant bounce on the Castle. I had one of those moments of pure pleasure as we bounced gently in the summer sunshine. She giggling, and me just feeling...well...happy.
That is the power of Yes!.
Now, I am in a quandary, as I type this to you at 9.09pm, and the quandary is this. It is getting late, and no opportunities for a Yes! have yet presented themselves, as I have today exclusively been either (a) proofreading, (b) bouncing on a castle, or (c) sleeping.
However, as i have been writing this, I have been idly glancing through Men's Health magazine. There was a piece about cycling's Tour of Britain and I had a look at the I was pleased to see that the final day of racing finishes in my home town of Glasgow. However, there was a tab on the website that said "Volunteer". I couldn't resist.
Here is the choice which presented itself to me...

Yes I am available for the Scottish Stage
Can you guess which box I checked?
