Day 4 of The YES Experiment
Today I said yes to a trip to Borders book shop after dinner. There's a big shopping mall ten minutes from where I work, and my Significant Other suggested that I should pop along after dinner. Normally after work these days I've been spending a few hours on the book, and that's what I was going to do tonight. However, I am committed to my Yes experiment (Yesperiment?), and I am not a man who needs much encouragement to be spurred into fevered procrastiantion.
To be honest, I didn't much fancy the trip, and if it wasn't for the experiment I would have stayed in. But as I strolled towards the bookshop, I noticed the little coffee shop had put tables out on the pavement. So, in the late summer sun you would have found me this evening, sipping an espresso and feeling rather glad to be alive.
I was feeling so positive, I even used an extra Yes! today. I was asked if I wanted to take part in a customer survey - normally something I run a mile from - but I was rewarded with 15% off my next purchase at the book shop. Having said this the customer survey was on the phone and I suspect I was charged about £3 for the call. In order to get my money's worth I intend to buy the most expensive item in the shop next time I am in. That will teach them.
Also - I have finished the first fair draft of all three major sections of the book today. This leaves me with some odd bits and pieces to complete - introductions and the like - and then I can press on with the proof reading.
