Entry for January 31, 2007

Hurrah! I will soon be on the train home from Edinburgh, a fully trained mediator. If any of you see me from now on, you will notice me making eye-contact, talking to you in well-modulated tones and acknowledging your emotions. Be not afraid. I am not trying to chat you up, I am merely employing my hard-earned new set of skills.
Actually, I suppose I might be trying to chat you up, but now you will not know. (It's a bit like my pal Dezo's theory when were all 16 - the theory was that mirrored sunglasses were a Good Thing, because they allowed you to glance sidelong at women's breasts without fear of being noticed).
I was pleased during my appraisal to learn that I had employed a marvellous example of what is called "re-framing" during my mediation session. I was particularly pleased because I did not know I had done it. I was particularly, particularly pleased because I'm not entirely sure what re-framing actually is. However, I did it apparently for which thanks be to God.
