Entry for December 7, 2006

I must be getting addicted to this, because my server was down at home on Thursday night, and I felt a bit jittery because I couldn’t get my blog entry done. So, in a rather sad way, I’m writing this on Thursday but won’t be able to post it until Friday.
I’m already worrying. Does that really count as an entry. Am I lying to the world? Am I lying to myself? Will the blog police come and take me away? The door kicked open in the dead of night, and then a crack team of Yahoo Special Forces will drag me screaming from my bed.
I’ll be hauled off to be interrogated in the dungeon that we all know lies deep beneath every branch of PC world, in every anonymous industrial estate, in every suburban town in Britain. I’ll be lashed to a chair with USB cables and then they’ll attach a wireless hub to my genitals so they can route the whole of the traffic from e-bay through my nether regions.
“YOU POSTED A BLOG ENTRY WITH A FALSE DATE,” they will scream at me. “YOU MUST PAY FOR IT. WE MUST KEEP OUR BLOGS PURE. WE MUST CLEANSE YOU. DO YOU HEAR US!!!! YOUR HARD DRIVE MUST BE ERASED.”
And then there will be blackness, and a faint voice at the edge of comprehension –
“Are you sure you want to quit breathing. Yes? No? Cancel”
A click. Then nothing.
