On the way home tonight Gillian and I were pondering the age old question: what is the peculiar synergy between key cutters and cobblers? What makes that business model such a success? Do the nimble hands of the cobbler lend themselves to the intricate work involved in expertly carving out the teeth of a yale key?
We got to thinking that it would be a nice idea if all businesses had a special sideline.
