Entry for December 27, 2006

I'm gradually getting my head switched back into work mode after the annual overindulgences. I actually managed to finish a draft of a big section of the book today, and I'm hoping for a good run at it tomorrow before going to test out Iain's pool table. I understand that a darts board has now been installed as well as optics and a stage for pole dancing. (One of those was a lie; see if you can guess which).
The book is starting to at least look like a proper manuscript. I am aiming to present the publishers with something that looks pretty in the hope that they will not feel the need to read it for a few weeks.
It's full tilt from here on in to try to get the draft submitted in January. I've managed to wangle a couple of days off from the office to go to the university library, to get my hands on a couple of journals that are a bit more difficult to get hold of. You can see what an exciting fellow I am from my idea of what constitutes a good holiday.
