A half day at work today, so I have spent a rather lethargic afternoon entertaining the Small Bald Person. I am pleased to note that the most exciting thing in her life at the moment seems to be her gran's green biscuit barrel.
When I come home after a day in work, she generally greets me with a nice smile, and sometimes a few syllables which I choose to interpret as dada, although I admit that, to the untutored ear, they may sound more like "Gaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!??!" or "Euuuuuuuuuuaghhhhhhh". Those interpretations are just wrong.
However, her happy little smile when I get in is of nothing compared to the excitement which accompanies the entrance of gran's green biscuit barrel. When it enters the room, she yells in delight, bounces up and down and claps her hands. Whe also shouts "dada" at the object. This may actually be a sarcastic reference to my expanding waistline - I like to think that my daughter is a prodigy of irony.
I do understand her delight. I myself cannot sleep if there are Mint Clubs in the house.
