Entry for December 2, 2006

Rehearsals for Sketchy and also for Match Play will be starting just into the new year. It looks like Sketchy is probably going to have a cast of three and hopefully we'll have it cast over the next couple of weeks.
Gillian McLean is currently putting the sketches together, and will be running the rehearsals. The idea I think will be for the cast to work together honing the material, so that the best stuff is ready for the previews of the show in March. We'll be using the shows at East Kilbride to narrow down what material works, so that things'll be tighter for the Edinburgh Fringe.
The Match Play cast is shaping up too with Allan Walker, Rab Cunningham, Allison Bell and Fiona McLaren all confirmed. That means I only have one part to cast, so I'm on the prowl for an older man. If you see me creeping around public conveniences in the middle of the night, don't worry: I'm only holding auditions.
Incidentally, I had a hair cut today. What is that thing with the mirror that they hold up to the back of your head? They always let you see the back of your head, and they always, without fail, say "Is that OK for you?
What is that all about? Has anyone ever peered in the mirror and said "God no! That's appalling! How could you make such a mess of my beautiful, beautiful hair. I demand a refund! I demand damages! I must see the manager at once!"?
I suspect not. I suspect they do what I do, which is to say "That's great thanks", then leave a tip, scurry from the shop and buy a new hat.
