Entry for August 29, 2007

I'm reading "The Happiness Hypothesis" by Jonathan Haidt at the moment. It is all about what makes us happy; what human beings need to lead a happy life, and it makes fascinating reading.
One of the things that apparently can lead to a happier life is performing acts of kindness. Now, not being one to resist a little experiment, I thought my blog might be the right crucible in which to test this. So, from tomorrow, this I will initiate -
31 DAYS OF KINDNESS
Be sure to check in regular as I perform random acts of kindness. In addition, if you feel inspired, perform a little kindness of your own now and then, and tell me about it in the comments. I reckon I have at least 10 readers out there. If you all do one act a week, add it to my 31 acts, then that'll be 71 Acts of Kindness that would never have happened otherwise. Now that can't be a bad thing.
Here are the rules on what qualifies as a Kind Act -
It must be a Kind Act
It must be something you wouldn't have done anyway - we are aiming to expand the sum total of human happiness, so the Kind Acts must be new
