Entry for August 20, 2007

Day 28 of The YES Experiment
If anyone's having difficulty following the theme of these blog entries, click on the link above and all will be explained.
Oh dear. My Lacoste deodorant has arrived. You may recall that I bought this as part of the yes Experiment a few days ago, as a result of a very glossy advert.
The bottle is disappointingly small. My Significant Other discovered it, and demanded to know how much it cost. I was reluctant to divulge this to her. I pointed out to her that she was lucky to have an imaginative and creative partner who was willing to engage in entertaining and unusual flights of fancy; a man with whom life is rarely dull; a man indeed, who now smelled both musky and mysterious.
None of this washed. She used her not inconsiderable powers of persuasion to prise the information from me.
"How much did that cost?"
"The price is irrelevant. Look how positive I'm being."
"Tell me how much it cost."
"More than £3."
"Tell me exactly how much, or you'll be in casualty with a deodorant canister in an unusual orifice."
"Interesting...I'm joking..Put the canister down darling...OK..OK...£16."
"SIXTEEN POUNDS!"
"Plus postage and packing. That was £2.95."
"Bend over. This might hurt a bit, but at least you'll smell unusually nice for the doctor in A & E."
I stuck to a safer Yes today. I gave up writing at lunch time and took the family to the park.
