Entry for August 08, 2007

Day 19 of The YES Experiment
If anyone's having difficulty following the theme of these blog entries, click on the link above and all will be explained.
I received a letter from Help the Aged today which asked me to send a donation of £12. I suspect they have been reading this blog. Either that or the Salvation Army have told them I'm a soft touch. Them or the man who asked me to buy a Big Issue yesterday.
My Yes! CD from amazon arrived today. (I bought the first CD from my list of recommendations that I didn't recognise). It is a bit...well...challenging. It is a brand of music called New Prog.
As I currently understand it New Prog involves a number of unusual (and, some might uncharitably suggest, unpleasant) chords played in quite rapid succession. And there's quite a lot of singing about Dancing on the Edge of Forever. And something that sounds a bit like a ZX Spectrum loading a game off a cassette.
And apparently a lot of it's recorded inside a giant milk bottle.
In fairness, I have only got to the middle of track 2. I shall persevere. I have many years to fill now, as my £12 donation to Help the Aged is likely to ensure that I live until the age of 165. I will have no money by then mind you, as I will have given it all to Help the Aged.
