Day 15 of The YES Experiment
If anyone's having difficulty following the theme of these blog entries, click on the link above and all will be explained.
Hurrah! It is nearly time for the Edinburgh Fringe. In truth I feel a bit mixed about it this year. I've directed shows for seven straight years at the Fringe, and this will be my eighth. However, my Significant Other is heavy with child at the moment (at least that's what she tells me - I suspect the empty packet of Double Choc Cookies has something to do with it). So, we're doing one gig only this year - a one off performance of Sketchy on 15th August. If any of you will be in Edinburgh for the festival, you can buy your tickets here.
Anyway, it is an odd experience for me being sober during the first week of August. Normally, it starts with "just a quick pint" in the Three Sisters, and ends in a hospital bed in mid-September, with a doctor pointing gravely at a diagram of a liver.
Today's Yes! came in Borders book shop. I was walking past a shelf, when I saw a shelf of Staff Recommendations, so I bought the first novel I'd never heard of. "The Vesuvius Club" by Mark Gatiss. I will post a review shortly.
