Entry for August 02, 2007

Day 13 of The YES Experiment
If anyone's having difficulty following the theme of these blog entries, click on the link above and all will be explained.
Today's Yes! was a bit of a wrench. I was settling into a night of work on The Project Which Dare Not Speak Its Name (you know - The Book - darn - I said it - my current theory is that if I don't mention it then it may not actually exist - a bit like Shrodinger's Cat but without the radiation poisoning). I was embarking on the laborious project of paragraph numbering when the phone rang. When the phone goes at these moments there is a 99.9% statistical chance that it will be (a) someone trying to sell me double glazing, or (b) my dad paying a flying visit to the West of Scotland.
It was the latter, and normally I'd have told him I was too busy - and I am - but I know the rules, and so I finished a little earlier than usual, and popped down to see him for a cup of tea and some chit chat.
And a very nice cup of tea it was too. There are few things in the world that cannot be made to seem a little better with a nice cup of tea. If Germany was not a nation of coffee drinkers, I think the twentieth century would have been a happier Century.
At any event, the Power of Yes has come good. Th tea and the conversation and the space of the fifteen minute drive gave me an idea which is going to save a lot of time with the paragraph numbering. It's not a brilliant idea in terms of originality, but it pleases me enormously. The idea is this -
Get someone else to do it.
Good huh?
