Entry for August 01, 2007

Day 12 of The YES Experiment
If anyone's having difficulty following the theme of these blog entries, click on the link above and all will be explained.
Still no evangelists.
Today I said Yes! to a sales enquiry at work. You know the sort of e-mail that comes in - all positive, explaining how they (the salesman) admires your company and feels we can work together to our mutual advantage. A No Man would interpret this as a rather crass attempt to get the foot in the door so that they can sell you life insurance, but to me a dedicated Yes Man, it sounded like I needed to reply in positive terms -
"Dear Bill,
Yes!
I would love to fit time into my "busy schedule" to have a chat about how we can "work together to our mutual gain". That sounds like too good an opportunity to pass up - hell, it might even be fun. Please call me right away; I'm just as excited as you are about the prospect of "building a close professional relationship". Who knows - if things go well, we might even take it beyond the professional - I'm game if you are.
Looking forward to our meeting already.
Alan!"
