If there's one thing I hate more than anything else in the world, it's the song "Dignity" by whining pseudo-intellectual popsters Deacon Blue.
Frankly, if there was a man up our street who packed his lunch in a Sunblest bag, then I woud take some delight in the taunts of local scallywags berating him as he picked litter out the gutter. "Bogie," I would think to myself, "is one of the less offensive names I woud shout, had I the courage."
Actually, it's not Bogie himslef I object to. It's the turgid, leaden lyrics. Frankly I think that Bogey's dingy should not be called "Dignity", but "Over-extended Metaphor". I appreciate that this does not scan as well, but at least it does not smack of bad sixth form politics.
if I ever encounter Ricky Ross while I'm sailing up the West Coast through villages and towns (and how do you sail through a village anyway) I will board his vessel and throw him overboard.
