Entry for 4th June, 2008

I have been working from home again today. I have a contract which involves reviewing other people's work, and it's impossible to do it in the office with the distractions of ringing telephones, trips to the baker's to eat empire biscuits and the like. So, I work from home a couple of days each month.
It has been a very productive day. In addition to completing the two tasks that I had set myself for work, I managed to load about fifty albums on to my iPod. That is what I call multi-tasking. I actually reckon that I am better at iPod loading than I am at the law. I am wondering whether I might give up lawyering altogether and start my own freelance iPod loading service. If any of you would like to place an order, I will be happy to oblige. Provded obviously you have a penchant for early eighties soft rock. Otherwise I think you might be disappointed in the service.
Working from home reminds me of studying for exams when I was a student. You are all alone in the house with some good music on, plenty of coffee and papers spread over your desk. It is not a bad way to spend the day, although I have to say that my Protestent work ethic makes me feel guilty about not being in the office. Oddly I am more productive at home, but nevertheless I feel that it is wrong that I am not there in the office to deal with queries and phone calls.
Anyway, I must go. My iPod's hunger is unceasing. I need to feed it another John Cougar album.
