Entry for 3rd June, 2008

I quite often have a read of Richard Herring's blog. I don't often mention it in here, because his blog is much funnier than mine, and I don't want my three regular readers deserting me in droves. I have worked hard to win over three regular readers, and I do not want them to realise that they might be having a better time somewhere else. In fairness, RH is a professional comedian, so his blog should be funnier than mine, but I bet he can't draft a Power of Attorney as well as I can, so I think that makes us even. Except that he is glamorous and has a life in shobiz. And is proably very happy and rich and stuff. But otherwise, we are even.
I'm risking mentioning his blog though, because there was an entry on it today about his play "Excavating Rita". He mentions that there was a "Scotch" production of the play some time ago. He is right! I know because I directed it. And - (co-incidence, or something more sinister?) - the Couch Potato starred in it. We had a very merry time back in 2000 rehearsing a scene involving CP making sweet love to an ancient skeleton.
Those of you who are aware of my embarrassing incident with Richard Herring will be aware that I might be accused of having an unhealthy obsession with his work. I therefore find it interesting to note that his new Edinburgh show is being staged in the Underbelly this year, which is where we are putting on our kids' show - "Sketchy!". It is plain that I am stalking Richard. Admittedly, it is a rather cautious form of stalking where I ensure that our paths cross every eight years or so, but us stalkers cannot be careful nowadays what with all the CCTV cameras and stuff.
