Entry for 30th Spetmber, 2008 - Rehearsalzzzzzzzzzzz

I have been rehearsing “Misery”. For three hours. Three long hours. It was very boring. Not the play itself. In fact, if I was you, I’d be going to www.practical-magic.org and snapping up the last of the tickets. I wouldn’t even be waiting until the end of this blog entry. I’d be rushing to my jacket pocket and digging my credit card out now, in case anyone else is reading this.
No – the play isn’t boring. But rehearsing it again after a break of a couple of months is mind-sapping. There is no work for me to do. The actors basically know what they are doing. So all I am there for is to prompt them about the odd forgotten line. My work is done. In many ways I am like God on the Sabbath. I can sit on my cloud, look at my creation and see That It Is Good. I didn’t though. Instead I actually fell asleep in the middle of the rehearsal.
No-one noticed though. I am only the director.
