My Significant and Other have finished the entry for this year’s Fringe programme. This proved to be a bit more difficult than usual this year, because one of the shows is a new piece that I am devising called “21 Girlfriends”.
I think it’s quite a good title. The problem is that that is all it is so far.
A title.
There isn’t anything else. Specifically: there is no plot; there are no characters; there is no dialogue; there are no themes.
For all of these reasons, it was rather difficult to come up with a synopsis for the programme. At one point we did think about coming clean and saying in the programme that we haven’t written it yet. However, we thought that this might put some Fringegoers off attending. Perhaps they might just choose to go to something that has a finely crafted script that has been honed to perfection over years of work from a talented playwright. Instead of something that we threw together over two bottles of cheap Bulgarian wine a fortnight before the Fringe.
People have no sense of adventure.
