Entry for 30th March, 2008

It has been a late night!
My theatre company has got a venue sorted for our production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" at the Edinburgh Fringe. When you're arranging Fringe venues, this time of year is a bit frantic. All the venues wait until very near the deadline (for entering the show in the Fringe Programme) before making offers of times to the theatre companies - obviously, they want to book the best possible acts. Then, as the deadline draws near they start to make offers, and are desperate to fill the time slots. They start to pile the pressure on to get the companies to sign contracts.
We managed to get a really good time slot in a venue that's just the right size for us, but today was a day of frantic phone calls and form-filling, followed by a trip to the office after midnight to fax the contract in, to seal the deal.
We still have to place the kids' show that we#re taking to Edinburgh, but that should happen over the next couple of days I hope.
Anyway - mark up your diaries - we'll be in Sweet EXA - Studio 2 - 2nd to 9th August at 7.15pm. Order up your programmes from www.edfringe.com - come to the show and I'll buy you a pint in the bar afterwards.
