Entry for 2nd October, 2008 - Grumpy Git

I am a grumpy git today.
I was awoken by the Round Faced Girl at about 5.30am. She kept me awake for a good ten minutes. I eventually managed to deal with it though. I am, after all, a new man, and dealing with crying children is something I can take in my stride. I dealt with it by nudging my Significant Other in such a way that she thought she had been awoken by the crying. I then pretended to be asleep. And she – kind-hearted creature that she is – got up to attend to the crying child. I think the maternal instinct is wonderful.
I went back to sleep, feeling slightly smug that I had been able to deal with matters so effectively. However, the ten minutes’ interruption has left me crotchety, and I need to vent my spleen somehow. I am hoping that some hapless minion from a call centre calls me up to try to sell me insurance. I intend to take out my bad mood upon them. I think that it’s entirely appropriate to make the life of some Phone Monkey miserable, because I am sleep-deprived. They are getting minimum wage after all. They are lucky not to be in the workhouse if you ask me.
