Entry for 2nd December, 2007

My pal The Laughing Boy has suggested that me, him and some pals from way back get together for a game of Dungeons and Dragons. This is a role playing game which me and my friends from school played when we were adolescents. Effectively, it's a game played in the overactive imaginations of teenage boys. As I recall there were only two compartments in my imagination at that age - the compartment for Dungeons and Dragons, and the compartment for imagining the girl in front of me in phsics with no clothes on.
The pre-requisites for joining our little gaming group were (a) complete awkwardness around women, and (b) spots. I was particularly well-qualified in both areas, and accordingly very keen. Whilst other boys were out playing football, losing their virginity and stealing cars, we stayed indoors eating digestive biscuits and fighting dragons. As you can imagine, this made us even less attractive to girls, so it was a self-perpetuating hobby.
So, now we are all older, mostly married and we have left such foolish things behind. At least until The Laughing Boy sent his tempting little e-mail. I am off to dust of my rule books. I may even buy some digestives.
