Entry for 29th November, 2008 - 21 Girlfriends

I am thumping my way through rehearsals for 21 Girlfriends. We have nearly finished sketching out the character history for the protagonist. It’s a very interesting experience,
I’ve got to say that The Chief, who is the central character is working hard. It’s a joy to see him carving a new life out of thin air and imagination. Where there was nothing, there now seems to be a new person. I can almost see him if I close my eyes. I know how he talks and I know what he likes to eat fro breakfast.
I realised today however, that we only have about 10 weeks to get the script together. This is fairly worrying since, at the moment, we have precisely no script at all. Zero.
Zero, in this context, is not a good number. It is the sort of number that, when I type it out like that (zero) is apt to make my mouth go try, and my old heart beat a little faster.
