Entry for 28th October, 2008 - A nasty bug

The Small Round Faced People have been suffering with a nasty bug. Until today, my Significant Other and I had only suspected that they had a nasty bug. However, today the doctor hasa confirmed the diagnosis.
“They have a nasty bug,” he said.
I am glad I am funding the National Health Service, and that all of my tax is not being wasted on doctors who spend their years of training in the student bar, instead of learning how to diagnose childhood ailments.
He prescribed some penicillin though, so that made me feel a bit better. If I go to the doctor’s then I expect to come away with something in a bottle that will sort things out – either some nice white pills, or some thick and sweet pink liquid, or better still, something to rub on the affected part. Is there any more reassuring word in the English language than “ointment”?
