I have overcome procrastination, and I have built my daughter's bed! Actually, I did not really build it. The word "built" implies that I am possessed of joinery and/or construction skills which would not really be true. What I really should say is that I "assembled" the bed from a flat pack. Frankly, my talents in this direction peaked at the age of nine, when I completed an Airfix model kit of the Graf Spey. Fortunately flat pack furniture is not nearly so challenging (and there's none of those finnicky transfers).
Anyway, the bed is finished. I could sense my Significant Other melting in a primval way as she saw me driving the screws home with my phillips posidrive. To be absolutely, I felt a few stirrings myself (especially when I mounted the headboard - well - what red-blooded male would not).
My daughter is pleased with it. She has spent all afternoon "Having a wee rest in the bed that daddy built." I feel spendid.
