Less than 5,000 words to go, and only 7 days to do it in. I am beginning to harbour thoughts that I might make it across the finish line. Not only that, but I came up with a title for the novel today. Until now I have been saving it in Word using the working title of "My Magnificent First Novel". However, as I have worked my way through the speedy writing process I have come to realise more and more, that the working title is not entirely apt.
I knew I had to change the title. I toyed with "My Unreadable First Novel" and "Destroy Me whe the Word Count Hits 50,000". However I have rejected these, and opted for "Ten Perfect Days".
I feel happier now that my baby has a name. I think it is happier too. When I say the name it smiles at me and urgles a bit. Sometimes I cover the screen and play peekaboo with it.
