Entry for 23rd September, 2008 - Eurocentral

I was at a course at the Dakota Hotel at Eurocentral tonight. I have to say that I think that "Eurocentral" is a bit of an over-ambitious name. To me, I would expect "Eurocentral" to be somewhere on continental Europe - a shining new town just off the Autobahn in southern Germany perhaps; a chic development of luxury apartments in near Budapest maybe.
I do not really see "Eurocentral" as an industrial estate in central Lanarkshire.
Which is what it is.
Eurocentral is very depressing. You can only get to it by car. It seems to exist almost entirely because of its proximity to the motorway. After we all stop using cars because of the Great Fuel Crisis of 2012, it will become a ghost town. Tourists will come to it on their bicycles and wonder at the madness of the little village of chrome and smoked glass buildings out there in the middle of nowhere.
