Entry for 23rd May, 2008

I have been working from home today. I love working from home, largely because I find that my own company is so much better than everyone else's. On the downside, there is no-one around for me to throw my stapler at when I get grumpy.
The other significant problem is the proximity of the fridge to my workspace. I have never been particularly disciplined when it comes to food (I cannot sleep if there is chocolate in the house). At least at work, if I fancy a snack, I need to go downstairs, out to the shop and back again. This is a round trip of at least four minutes and its arduous nature is often enough to stop me purchasing my third Double Decker of the day (I am now looking on that one as the "unnecessary" Double Decker)
However, at home, a snack is always just the width of the fridge door away. And that is not a distance likely to keep my insane urges away. The manufacturers of fridges are frankly largely at fault for the obesity problem in Central Scotland. If they would install security devices and traps on the doors of their chilly cabinets of delight, we would be less prone to heart disease. Mr Smeg, you are a menace to society.
I may have had a bit of a worrying snack incident today, involving a whole packet of Wiltshire ham, a half pound of cheese, most of a loaf, some raspberry jam, and some chocolate buttons.
I am off to bed to massage my distended belly.
