Entry for 23rd March, 2008

31 Days to Write
a
50,000 Word Novel
DAY 23
Wordcount 43,549
I should not have bought the iPod. I have spent the whole day loading tunes onto it whilst subsisting entirely on a diet of Cadbury's Easter eggs. It has not been the sort of day that is likely to improve my chances of making the 4 by 400m relay squad at the Beijing olympics.
Its similarities to Natasha Kaplinski go further than just the fact that it talks the same way (see my previous posting). Like Natasha, the iPod is very pretty. It is very tempting. They both look clean, functional and well-presented, but you know that just under the surface they would both lead you to doom as sure as a siren singing from that island with the big jaggy rocks.
In fact if i ever see Natasha Kaplinski with an iPod I think that my marriage would be over, and Real Matasha, iPod Natasha and I would destroy ourselves in a hedonistic frenzy. What a way to go though, 80 gigabytes of your favourite tunes and a woman who know her current affairs.
