Yes! You read correctly. 2,075 words. I am already about one twenty-fifth of a novelist, and I have only been writing for one day. I am clearly a prodigy, and have thus far missed my vocation.
I am not letting negative thoughts intrude. In particular, the fact that I still have no clear plot, and certainly no properly defined characters are not matters which I will let get in the way of producing my masterpiece. 50,000 words must be achieved. I am spurred on by the fact that the Couch Potato is currently sitting on his deminc sofa dreaming up some terrible punishment for me if I fail to reach the target. I cannot let him unleash his dreadful forfeit upon me. I shall not fail. I must not fail.
Today's quota was written in Costa Coffee in a shopping mall in Easterhouse. Hemingway could not have wished for a better venue.
