I have just finished reading "The Blind Assassin" by Margaret Atwood. I was attracted to it, because I read "The Hhandmaid's Tale" a whiles ago, which is an utterly mesmerising odd story which i loved.
Go and buy some of her books. They are astonishing. They twist and turn and thrill and surprise you. I got the shivers as I sat and turned the final pages.
Now that the little people are sleeping through the night, I find myself with more time to read than I have for years. It reminds me of being a kid . When I was in Primary School there was a period that I set my alarm for 6am just so I could spend an hour or two before breakfast reading. (In my latter teenage years I used to stay under the covers reading late at night, though regrettably I was not engaged in reading highbrow literature).
It is nice to be back in the world of books. It is good to view the world (or new worlds) through someone else's eyes.
