Entry for 11th June, 2008

Here is a photo of something called Chicken Nugget Animal Shapes. I do not know about you, but I am having trouble identifying exactly what these animals are. Perhaps the manufacturers are trying to encourage an early interest in microbiology in our toddlers by selling chicken nuggets in the shape of amoebae. However, I have to think that tasty snacks in the shape of monocellular animals is not the way to go to shift product from the childrens' frozen food aisle.
Actually, now that i examine the packet more closely, these are supposed to be jungle animals. Ah - that makes it much clearer doesn't it?
Jungle animals? I cannot imagine that animals of these shapes could really have survived the process of natural selection. Let's face it, two dimensional one legged herbivores would be no even match for a fleet footed cheetah. Particularly if they are made out of cooked chicken with a tasty bread crumb coating.
And let's face it, thes jungle animals are hardly predators are they? I can't see them chasing across the savannah to fell a straggling wildebeest.
